Sustainable Life is designed with privacy at its core. By default, all your data stays on your device - we never collect or share your personal information.

Welcome to Sustainable Life. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience using our app.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Sustainable Life is a privacy-first application. We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information to our servers. This includes:

Personal identifiable information (name, email address, etc.)
Location data
Health data (unless you explicitly choose to connect Apple Health)
Usage analytics
Crash reports

Data Storage

Local Storage (Default)

All your activity data, settings, and personal information are stored locally on your device using CoreData. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to enable iCloud sync:

Your data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account
We do not have access to your iCloud data
You can disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings
Data sync is governed by Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Data Types and Usage

Activity Data

Your logged activities (transport, food, shopping, energy) are stored locally for carbon footprint calculation and trend analysis.

Health Data

If you connect Apple Health, we only access walking and cycling data with your explicit permission. This data stays on your device.

Achievements

Your achievement progress and XP are stored locally to gamify your sustainability journey.

Preferences

Your settings (units, notifications, daily goals) are stored locally using UserDefaults.

Third-Party Services

Sustainable Life uses the following third-party services, all of which are optional and require your explicit consent:

Apple iCloud: For optional data sync (see above)
Apple Health: For optional activity import (you control what data is shared)
StoreKit: For in-app purchases (processed by Apple, no payment data stored by us)

We do not integrate with any analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party SDKs that collect your data.

Children's Privacy

Sustainable Life does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not target children.

Your Rights

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

Access: View all your data within the app
Export: Export your data in CSV format via Settings > Export Data
Delete: Delete all your data by uninstalling the app or using the delete function in Settings
Control Sync: Enable or disable iCloud sync at any time

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

Data is stored locally using iOS's secure storage mechanisms
iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest
No sensitive data is transmitted over the internet by default

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the app. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
